Lazy,

So ive been pretty lazy about putting up pictures of Reggies finished product yard.... here it is. Yes the lawn was a good 1-2 inches higher than his neighbors. You cant see it from this photo.

The Jist of his yard.... L shaped Lawn in the front. Facing the house, the left side of the Driveway has a narrow 1 ft strip of Gravel, a walkway to the mailbox. Since theres usually more than one car parked in front, its an extended walkway as well. Heading to the front door theres a gravel courtyard from which the Front porch over looks. Ill add pictures when i can find them. This setting opens up the yard and adds privacy to the front porch. Instead of lookingout onto grass and the road. You're in a semi secluded "room".
Yes the grass is uneven........
I didnt have the time to take a roller to it before the rains set in...... Figure that it would settle on its own... or leave it to Trip or people who walk on the grass to compact it.

Soon to be Lawn

Pulled out the bluegrass, hairgrass, panicum, catnip, roses and the weeds. Apparently the plants i had planted had become mutant, with the bluegrass getting 5ft and the rose that had like 10 flowers per stem......... The soil when i had planted it was poor, i could barely pick-axe a hole to plant. Now after 2 years, its almost like butter, with chunks. The grass better grow like the pope and mother Teresa blessed it..... Im tilling it all by hand with a pitch fork, digging down about a ft and turning it over, adding some topsoil and pinebark/soil conditioner. If i do it right, the grass should be thick and highly drought tolerant when it matures. We'll see. Next step flatten and put one more topsoil layer on and seed, water and wait. Hopefully its not too cold to seed.....

So almost 3 years in the making and its still a work in progress. Had to dig out the Panicum, catnip, blue grass and 2 roses. Pictures to come

The roses are out, of the probably 15 varieties i had, only about 7 are still alive, i oughta strangle reggie for that..... Blooming now, 'Sounvenir de la Malmaison' and 'Marchessa Bocella' smell great
